Transportation Democrats Reject Trump Plan to Privatize Public Airspace, Offer Targeted Solutions to Improve FAAThe Aviation Funding Stability Act of 2017, legislation to strengthen and reform the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and its air traffic control (ATC) system. The legislation, sponsored by Ranking Member Peter DeFazio (D-OR), and cosponsored by Subcommittee on Aviation Ranking Member Rick Larsen (D-WA) and every other Democrat on the Committee, will provide stable, predictable funding for aviation programs and reform the FAA’s procurement and ATC modernization efforts without giving away our aviation infrastructure to special interests.
On April 5, 2017, Ranking Member Peter DeFazio introduced H.R. 1908 "Investing in America: Unlocking the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund" to provide more than $18 billion in investment for our Nation's coastal and inland harbors over the next decade without raising one more dime in taxes.
On March 1, 2017, Ranking Member Peter DeFazio and Representative Thomas Massie introduced H.R. 1265 "Investing in America: Rebuilding America’s Airport Infrastructure Act" to generate billions of dollars each year to help our airports rebuild and rehabilitate aging terminals, runways, and taxiways and keep pace with ever-increasing demand in the 21st century—without raising taxes by a cent.
On March 22, 2017, Ranking Member Peter DeFazio introduced H.R. 1664, the “Investing in America: A Penny for Progress Act", legislation that provides approximately $500 billion in infrastructure investment to improve the conditions of our Nation’s highways, bridges, and public transit systems, address the Federal under investment that has caused the current state-of-good-repair backlog, and meet future highway and transit needs through fiscal year (FY) 2030.
