Chairs DeFazio, Payne, Jr. Announce Hearing to Discuss the Surface Transportation Board’s Role in Resolving Freight Rail Conflicts

Washington, DC - Today, Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and Chair of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Donald M. Payne, Jr. (D-NJ) announced the subcommittee will hold a hearing titled, “Board Member Views on Surface Transportation Board Reauthorization.” During the hearing, members of the Surface Transportation Board will discuss how to improve the Board’s efficiency and authority in resolving freight railroad industry conflicts.
