Congressional Delegation to Hold Media Availability during Northeast Corridor Infrastructure Trip

On the Members’ two-day schedule: A field roundtable on the Gateway Program, as well as tours of the 108 year-old North River Tunnel, Northeast Corridor Infrastructure, the Penn Station Control Center, and Second Ave Subway

Washington, D.C. – For your planning purposes, Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Peter DeFazio (D-OR) announced the full schedule of Thursday and Friday’s infrastructure tour and field roundtable, including a media availability at Penn Station on Thursday evening. Please note that portions of the trip will not be open to media, but video will promptly be made available by Committee staff. All times/locations/participants are subject to change. 

In addition to Chair DeFazio, members of the Congressional Delegation include: Reps. Albio Sires, Donald Payne, Jr., Adriano Espaillat, Tom Malinowski, André Carson, Nita Lowey, Josh Gottheimer, and Mikie Sherrill. There may be additions to this list.

Thursday, May 2nd

 

6:00 PM: After getting an up-close look at infrastructure projects along the Northeast Corridor from Amtrak’s “American View” inspection car, members will arrive at Penn Station New York. Some members will hold a media availability at approximately 6:00PM in the Penn Station Mezzanine before touring the 108 year-old North River Tunnel later that evening. Media is advised to arrive by 5:45PM.

 

Video of the delegation seeing infrastructure from Amtrak’s “American View” inspection car will be made available by 8PM Thursday; video from the North River Tunnel trip will be made available by 2AM Friday. Unedited video will be uploaded to the Transportation Committee’s YouTube channel.

 

Friday, May 3rd

 

10:15 AM: Field Roundtable on the Gateway Program: Port Authority Board Room, 4 World Trade Center. This roundtable is open to media and will be livestreamed via the Transportation Committee website.
