WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) for awarding more than $4.2 billion for 44 projects to upgrade the nation’s infrastructure.
“Thanks to today’s funding, states have the resources to deliver game-changing infrastructure projects that will transform communities—improving safety, enhancing quality of life, growing the economy and creating jobs,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “From replacing the aging structure of the Hood Canal Bridge in my state of Washington to providing funding for electrification at PortMiami to building ADA-accessible and pedestrian-friendly sidewalks along the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, these grant projects will have lasting benefits on communities across the country. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues to build cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible infrastructure while creating good-paying jobs.
This funding comes from two grant programs funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL): the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant program and the National Infrastructure Project Assistance (Mega) Program, which was created by the BIL.
