Ranking Member Larsen Applauds Millions for Air Traffic Control Towers Thanks to Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Washington, D.C. — Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for awarding $20 million for 20 Contract Tower Competitive Grant Program (FCT) projects to improve, build and repair air traffic control (ATC) towers at airports across the country.

“Thanks to this funding, air traffic controllers and facilities across the country are in a better position to safely manage our airspace and ensure the safety of the traveling public,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “In my state of Washington, the Renton Municipal Airport will receive more than $500,000 to support the design and replacement of an existing ATC tower. Funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues to create good-paying jobs while building safer, cleaner, greener and more accessible infrastructure.”
