Ranking Member Larsen Celebrates Funding to Reconnect Communities and Improve Accessibility

Funding to Support Underserved Communities Delivers on Longtime Priority of Transportation and Infrastructure Democrats

WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the announcement of $3.3 billion in funding through the Reconnecting Communities Program and the Neighborhood Access and Equity Program, made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act respectively. This investment will help facilitate 132 projects across the country that will reconnect communities and improve accessibility.

“The $3.3 billion for these historic programs will help right the wrongs caused by past infrastructure decisions and improve the accessibility and safety of underserved communities around the country.” Ranking Member Larsen said. “Thanks to the investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, we are ensuring that our transportation infrastructure is better designed to promote economic opportunity and connect people with their communities and access to jobs.”
