Ranking Member Larsen Celebrates New Safer Streets Grant Opportunities from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the announcement for the next round of Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grants. This funding helps communities implement initiatives that prevent roadway fatalities and injuries.
“We are building a cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible transportation system in America, and today’s news that $1 billion in Safe Streets grants will be made available is a shot in the arm for those efforts,” Ranking Member Rick Larsen said. “Traffic fatalities hit a 16-year in 2021—a crisis on our shared streets for pedestrians and cyclists in particular. I encourage communities to apply and put these critical dollars to work improve the safety of our roads for everyone.”
