In two years, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has made more than 40,000 projects possible for thousands of communities across the country
Washington, D.C. – Nearly $400 billion in BIL dollars has been invested in communities for roads, bridges, freight and passenger rail, transit systems, ports, airports, water systems and other needs beyond transportation and infrastructure. To date, U.S. DOT has awarded over $200 billion supporting over 40,000 projects across the country, with even more projects made possible through BIL authorized highway programs.
“For two years, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has built and rebuilt our transportation systems to be cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible, creating countless jobs in the process,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “On a bipartisan basis, Congress came together to support game-changing investments in safer roads and bridges, improved passenger rail and transit options, clean ports, more accessible airports, and cleaner water, setting the nation up for success for generations to come. Over $200 billion in BIL transportation and infrastructure dollars has already flowed to over 40,000 projects across the country—and there is more on the way. With each project, we are closer to renewing our commitment to delivering infrastructure that drives the economy, expands mobility and strengthens safety. Today, I celebrate the transformation already in progress and double down on my commitment to ensuring these investments provide increased opportunities for all Americans, create jobs and grow our economy from the middle up and the bottom out.”
