Washington, D.C.—Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement following the U.S. Coast Guard’s announcement of the overwhelming success of Operation Pacific Viper.
"The United States Coast Guard recently announced that, since August, they seized over 100,000 pounds of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific Ocean—while busting drug dealers and gathering invaluable evidence that can be used to dismantle trafficking networks," Ranking Member Larsen said. "Despite President Trump's claim that Coast Guard methods are 'totally ineffective' at drug interdiction, this tremendous success demonstrates the important work of the Coast Guard and the need to support their mission."
