Washington, D.C. — Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement after Administrator Michael Whitaker announced he would be leaving the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“I thank FAA Administrator Whitaker for his leadership and commitment to the safety of the flying public,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “The next Administrator has big shoes to fill and an important duty to implement the overwhelmingly bipartisan FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024. I stand ready to assist the next Administrator in the implementation of the FAA reauthorization and to build a safer, cleaner, greener and more accessible aviation system.”
