Washington, D.C.—Today, House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Ranking Member Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement in response to the President’s threats to defund the Smithsonian over his illegitimate concerns with the institution’s current leadership and ideology.
“The Smithsonian is a cherished American institution that tells the story of our country,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “The Trump administration’s bullying needs to stop. Secretary Burgum should drop this ill-advised campaign immediately.”
