Washington, D.C. — Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement after the Trump administration temporarily waived the Jones Act.
“For decades, the bipartisan Jones Act has supported American jobs and manufacturing in the maritime industry," Ranking Member Larsen said. "By temporarily waiving the Jones Act to fix this economic crisis of their own making, the Administration threatens American maritime jobs. They must reverse course to protect our maritime workforce."
