Chairs DeFazio, Norton Announce Automated Vehicles Hearing

Washington, DC- Today, Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and Chair of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced the subcommittee will hold a hearing titled, “The Road Ahead for Automated Vehicles.” The hearing will explore the infrastructure, safety, workforce, and other impacts of the deployment of automated vehicles.

“As automated vehicles become more integrated into our lives and economy, Congress must ensure they are deployed in a way that’s safe—for all road users," Chair DeFazio said. "Our committee looks forward to hearing a variety of perspectives on AVs and how we can keep our roads and communities safe.”
