Washington, DC - Today, Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and Chair of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Donald M. Payne, Jr. (D-NJ) announced the subcommittee will hold a hearing titled, “Examining Freight Rail Safety.” The purpose of this hearing is for members to learn about the current state of freight rail safety, in addition to hearing testimony on how to keep rail workers and our rail system safe.
