Ranking Member Larsen Announces T&I Subcommittee Ranking Members:

Washington, DC Today, House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Ranking Member Rick Larsen (D-WA) announced the Ranking Members for each of the six subcommittees.

“The Democratic Ranking Members of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee are a diverse, talented group ready to tackle problems and find solutions on behalf of the American people," Ranking Member Larsen said. “I am looking forward to getting started on our work with this group of dedicated and knowledgeable public servants during what I expect to be a productive Congress.”

Democratic Ranking Members by Subcommittee:

Subcommittee on Aviation
Ranking Member: Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN)

“Seniority has its privileges, and I am pleased I make good use of mine with service on the Subcommittees and Committees best serving the interests of Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District,” Representative Cohen said. “In these senior roles, I will be in a position to set the agenda and shape policy in the areas of both transportation and federal legal rights and protections. I appreciate the confidence my colleagues in Leadership have shown in putting me in these positions and will work diligently to advance the best interests of our nation.”

Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation
Ranking Member: Representative Salud Carabajal (D-CA)

"As the top Democrat on the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee last Congress, I helped lead our efforts to pass key pieces of legislation that support our Coasties, ease supply chain disruptions, and make our seas safer. In particular, in the aftermath of the Conception boat fire off the coast of my district, I'm proud of the new laws that we passed to reform both safety and maritime liability laws using the tragic lessons of that incident," Representative Carbajal said. "I am honored to be selected to continue in that role in the 118th Congress, and look forward to working with Ranking Member Larsen, Chair Graves, and the rest of our committee to build on that progress in the coming term."

Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management
Ranking Member: Representative Dina Titus (D-NV)

“Investing in our infrastructure impacts not only the local economy of Nevada’s First District, but – with Las Vegas’ deep and vibrant ties to the tourism and hospitality sectors – industries across the U.S. and communities around the world,” Representative Titus said. “As Ranking Member of the Economic Development Subcommittee, I look forward to advocating for District One’s continued economic security and resiliency.”

Subcommittee on Highways and Transit
Ranking Member: Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC)

"Transportation and infrastructure issues are among the most bipartisan in the House and Senate, and I hope the spirit of bipartisanship on T&I continues in the 118th Congress," Congresswoman Norton said. "I look forward to focusing particularly on rising issues, among them, reducing congestion, addressing climate change, and encouraging innovation, while continuing to prioritize investment in infrastructure for D.C., the national capital region and the country as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit.”

Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials
Ranking Member: Representative Donald Payne Jr. (D-NJ)

“It’s an honor to have been selected by my colleagues to serve as the Ranking Democrat of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials. I look forward to working with every Member of the Committee to improve freight passenger rail service nationwide, including the vital Gateway program connecting New York and New Jersey, improving freight rail service for businesses and consumers, and ensuring the safety of oil and natural gas pipelines,” Representative Payne said.

Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment
Ranking Member: Representative Grace Napolitano (D-CA)

“I thank Ranking Member Larsen and all of my Democratic colleagues for their continued trust in me and support of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee,” Representative Napolitano said. “I look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with Chairman David Rouzer, who has been a great partner on this Subcommittee in supporting the water quality, flood control, and navigation needs of local communities across the country.”

Vice Chair of the Full Committee
“Fresh off one of the most productive stretches in this Committee’s history, I’m ready to hit the ground running with Ranking Member Larsen and our colleagues on both sides of the aisle to make sure the historic investments under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law reach every community, improve air travel for both customers and workers, deliver solutions to the West’s water crisis and much more,” Representative Stanton said.
