WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the announcement of $800 million for Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grants to 510 communities throughout the country.
“We are building a cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible transportation system in America, and these Safe Streets grants are a key part of that,” Ranking Member Rick Larsen said. “Traffic fatalities hit a sixteen-year high in 2021, and the problem is getting steadily worse for pedestrians and cyclists in particular. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to get these critical dollars to work immediately improving the safety of our roads for everyone.”
