WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) for awarding more than $634 million for bridge replacement, rehabilitation, preservation and protection projects across the country though the Bridge Investment Program.
“Thanks to today’s funding, states have additional resources to rehabilitate and replace aging bridges while connecting communities, boosting commerce, reducing commute times and creating jobs,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “From Maine to Arizona, Texas to Michigan, these grants are improving many of the 42,000 bridges that are in poor condition across the country. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues creating safer, cleaner, greener and more accessible infrastructure.”
