Washington, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) after it announced $577 million for 31 projects to improve port and freight related infrastructure through the Port Infrastructure Development Program.
“Today’s funding supports communities across the country who rely on strong ports to support businesses and create good-paying jobs,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “From replacing a 47-year-old commercial dock in my district in Washington to building a new 700-foot dock for soybean shipping in Illinois to improving a key ferry terminal in Connecticut, funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues to create good-paying maritime jobs and cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible infrastructure.
