Washington, D.C. – Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement on the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 incident.
“Safety must come first for our aviation system, which is why I’m pleased that NTSB has already announced an investigation into the incident in Portland,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “I also support the FAA’s decision to issue an airworthiness directive grounding this subset of planes until they can be inspected for safety. I will be in touch with all the relevant stakeholders and stand ready to work in committee on any policy changes needed in the wake of this dangerous event.”
