Washington, D.C.—Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement on Section 373 of the FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act.
“The tragic DCA mid-air collision exposed critical safety issues within the country’s aviation system and an urgent need for immediate reforms,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “We should be closing loopholes that allow military aircraft to fly in potentially unsafe ways, not widening them. That’s why I will work to respond to the NTSB’s final report and recommendations set to come out next month. Our work to address the mid-air collision and improve the safety of the flying public cannot and will not stop with this bill.”
