Ranking Member Larsen Statement on President Biden’s Proposed Budget

Washington, D.C. – Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement after President Joe Biden shared his budget proposal for fiscal year 2024.

“President Biden’s proposed budget builds on investments from the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to modernize our infrastructure and improve quality of life, create jobs and make us more competitive globally,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “The Biden budget demonstrates the President’s commitment to deliver world class roads, bridges, transit, rail, aviation, water resources infrastructure and supply chains with $60.8 billion for the Federal Highway Administration, $17 billion for the Federal Transit Administration, $4.8 billion for rail, $19.8 billion for the Federal Aviation Administration, more than $4 billion for the EPA for water infrastructure, $7.4 billion for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and $980 million for the Maritime Administration. As we continue implementing the BIL next fiscal year, Democrats are committed to building transportation systems that are cleaner, greener, safer, and more accessible in communities across the country.”
