Washington, D.C.—Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) released the following statement after the conclusion of the Trump administration’s air traffic control roundtable.
“Democrats support air traffic controllers and aviation safety technicians and the important role they play in safeguarding our skies. Unfortunately, these critical workers missed a paycheck earlier this week because Republicans refuse to fix the healthcare crisis they created and open the government,” Ranking Member Larsen said. “Instead of working with Democrats to end the shutdown, the White House is using air traffic controllers, aviation safety technicians, pilots and the airlines as political cover while healthcare costs near maximum altitude for millions of Americans. It’s time for Republicans to come to the negotiating table if they are serious about paying the aviation safety workforce.”
