Washington D.C.—Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA), released the following statement after a SpaceX rocket exploded in Florida, grounding flights at airports across the state.
“I want to thank the FAA employees who helped keep travelers safe after a SpaceX rocket exploded above Florida," Ranking Member Larsen said. "It was especially important to be alert after a similar incident involving a SpaceX vehicle occurred on January 16th, and I spoke with Acting Administrator Rocheleau last night to express my thanks that his team was prepared. This serves as an important reminder that the public servants at the FAA play a crucial role in our transportation network and deserve our respect and gratitude."
