Washington, D.C.— Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) applauded the announcement of Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) planning grants. This funding helps communities develop strategies to prevent roadway fatalities and injuries.
“Communities across the country can look forward to more than $82 million to help advance 235 projects that will make roads safer and more accessible,” Ranking Member Rick Larsen said. “Traffic fatalities hit a 16-year high in 2021—a crisis on our shared streets for pedestrians and cyclists in particular. The Safe Streets and Roads for All grants, made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will supercharge efforts to reverse the trend, creating jobs in the process.”
